Minnesota State Licensure

The Midwest Hypnotherapy Academy is a Minnesota State Licensed Private Career School.

The State of Minnesota requires a private career school license for any organization that:

  • Offers any program below the associate degree level;
  • Prepares students for an occupation or employment;
  • Provides education programs of 16 hours or more, and
  • Enrolls, advertises or solicits students in Minnesota.

Why is this important to you as a student?

Licensure protects your rights.  As a licensed institution, there are regulations regarding enrollment, quality of programs, maintenance of records and an ombudsman process for disputes.  This ensures that you will not be scammed by a small operation running a brief training and then not being around to support you on an ongoing basis.

Licensure offers assurance of quality.  Our programs and course descriptions have been reviewed by the State of Minnesota Office of Higher Education.  While this is not the same as accreditation and the state does not offer a guarantee of quality instruction for licensed institutions, the time and financial investment this represents on the part of the MHA is an indication of our dedication to quality instruction and quality curriculum.  With this level of investment, we intend to be here a very long time!

Be a savvy consumer!  There are small organizations that pop up from time to time offering hypnosis training that have not taken this required step.  You have no protections or assurances with such organizations.  If an organization offers hypnosis training programs of over 16 hours, they must be licensed by the State of Minnesota and their school name will appear on this listing (you can find the Midwest Hypnotherapy Academy listed here):  http://www.ohe.state.mn.us/sPages/141Insts.cfm?pageID=470#M

Midwest Hypnotherapy Academy is a private career school with the Minnesota Office of Higher Education pursuant to Minnesota Statutes, sections 141.21 to 141.32.  Licensure is not an endorsement of the institution.  Credits earned at the institution may not transfer to all other institutions.
